- We’re In The Home Stretch! In General Discussion·October 20, 2022Hey Digital Volunteers, this is Marcel from Question 1’s digital team. I’m going to be candid with you—as the campaign comes to a close, we really need your help bringing home a win in these last NINETEEN DAYS. The Question 1 team and all of our wonderful volunteers have talked to hundreds of thousands of Massachusetts voters these past few months but the work isn’t finished yet. Before the election, we need more volunteers to help knock doors and call voters (and, if you’re already textbanking, keep up the good work!). We're getting into GOTV and we are filling *thousands* of shifts for canvasses and phonebanks. We need all the help we can get—including recruiting folks into these shifts. So drop CANVASS AND GOTV LINKS in the replies to our tweets/Facebook comments: the whole events feed from the website, the link to the event you're going to, the link to an event close to you even if you won't actually be there! We need to pull out *all the stops* to shift people over the next 3 weeks and get them on the doors and phones. It's go time! YOUR efforts now will be what wins this campaign for everyone in Massachusetts! Cross the finish line with us by checking out of our most important volunteer opportunities.000
- Less Than 4 Weeks Until Election Day!In General Discussion·October 12, 2022Hey There Digital Volunteers! As you know, The Fair Share Campaign has kicked into high gear as there are less than 4 weeks until election day! We’re in the home stretch - and getting so close to passing Question 1! As Election day approaches, we need your support now more than ever. One way digital volunteers can support the campaign is by signing up to textbank starting next week! To start off, on Tuesday, October 18 @6pm, we're holding a text banking meeting. If you want to textbank but have not text-banked before or haven’t been trained to text-bank for Question 1 specifically, the meeting is required so you can make your account and get fully trained on the program. So join us Tuesday at 6! If you’re already supporting The Fair Share Amendment by text banking, you are invited (but not required) to join us at 6:30pm to discuss our NEW texting script, which is different than our existing script. You'll have a chance to see and try the script on Monday/Tuesday and bring questions on Tuesday evening. Links and Training Dates: New Texters Training (required for new texters) - Tuesday 10.18 @6:00pm (RSVP) Existing Texters signup form (optional) - Tuesday 10.18 @6:30pm (RSVP) Feel free to get in touch with Maia (maia@fairsharema.com) beforehand with any questions. See you Tuesday, texters new and old!000
- Combatting Misinformation OnlineIn General Discussion·September 14, 2022As the campaign for the Fair Share Amendment ramps up with the upcoming November 8th vote, opponents of the campaign are getting active online. The issue is: their messaging is filled with misinformation meant to dissuade working people and voters from voting YES on Question 1. The guide attached will show you how to recognize misinformation and how to refute untrue claims about the campaign on social media, plus how to get in touch with the campaign team, what kinds of misinformation you should respond to, and where you can find more resources. For more info on this misinformation project, contact campaign Digital Director maia@fairsharema.com or @maiacatalpa on Twitter.000
- ACTION: Tell us your transit storyIn General Discussion·July 27, 2022Here is your first *official* campaign digital action. We're expanding our storytelling program into stories about public transit—the MBTA, WRTA, MVRTA, and any other regional public transit you take (or that you want to see created with $2 billion in sustainable revenue—East West rail, anyone?). The ask is to tell your own story, in 90 seconds or less, about what you use public transit for, why you value it, and what you want to see for transit with the revenue from the Fair Share Amendment. Tell us: what's your public transit story? If you've already sent us a story, but haven't done one on public transit yet—I really encourage sending in another! This is a very wild time for Massachusetts public transit and whether or not you had to jump out of an Orange Line train last week, your personal connection to transit + transportation is part of the bigger movement for decent transportation for everyone. When your stories are published, you'll get an email encouraging you to share them on social media (and tag us @fairsharema!) Storytelling and narrative is a key part of the campaign, and I'm excited to see what you come up with!004
